WHAT IS “TRAUMA-INFORMED VOICE?”

MINDFUL

A trauma-informed approach is guided by the awareness of trauma and its effect on the nervous system; the recognition of the signs of trauma response and how to respond to it in the moment; and the practice of actively resisting re-traumatization in the future.

ACCESSIBLE

"Going virtual" these last few years has given us the ability to access things we may not have been able to before, and many of us have found a minty courage to try new things from the safety of our homes. I find this to be neurodivergent and spectrum-friendly.

INCLUSIVE

Inclusivity is more than checking a box and articulating appropriate terminology. It means acknowledging the inequities of certain power dynamics at both systemic and interpersonal levels and working to ensure flexibility and an open mind while navigating them.

COLLABORATIVE

This method of voice training is fueled by the principle that both the coach and the client bring equal value to the table. It is driven by curiosity, which keeps the ball always in play. It's fun!

EMPOWERING

Ultimately, you are the expert of your own experience. Together, we reinforce your natural strengths and then challenge your skill from there- because your unique life experiences are what make you "you." And they make your voice yours.
